  5. I can't help but noticing that the tigers look a little flabby. Maybe that's because they're in captivity and can't run to hunt.

    1. Yes, they do look little bit out of shape. As you rightly pointed out, due to their lack of exercise and the relatively small size of their enclosure.

  6. i played a facebook game for a while where the introduction of white tigers -and the possibility of breeding them and releasing them to the wild- stirred up quite the controversy. i was told then that real zoos had recently been prohibited from breeding them anymore because of inbreeding. they do occur naturally in the wild, but aren't as common because the gene is recessive.

your pictures are great! it looks like the zoo has a beautiful enclosure for them. our zoo doesn't have white tigers, but i bet they'd be popular here.

    1. Great to know that we share similar interests in Nature as well as Sherlock Holmes!

I hope your zoo gets to have these big cats sometime in the near future...

  7. They are such majestic animals -- I do wish they could live in the wild but I imagine the zoo is a safer environment.

  12. They are gorgeous... I've never seen a white one, our Woodland Park Zoo here in Seattle has only the orange/black ones... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #54!
